ANKLE EXOSKELETON
Skills: CAD, Design for Manufacture and Assembly, User-testing, BOM Management
Machines: Laser-cutting, Lathe
Software: SolidWorks, Mint Workbench, Control Desk, MATLAB
The goal of this project was to redesign and build a new ankle exoskeleton. I worked with another mechanical engineering undergraduate student and we were mentored by a PhD student.
We made changes such as modifying hardware, adjusting thigh struts based on collected thigh diameter data, and performed torque and stress calculations to redesign the strain gauge mount. We fabricated and machined majority components by hand and managed a BOM of 34 different parts and hardware.

Besides working on the ankle exoskeleton, we were also involved in testing and debugging. This exposed us to interfacing with Mint Workbench and Control Desk, and using MATLAB to code and create a GUI for the treadmill.
